This was a last second decision by me for an entire Boy Scout Troop coming back from summer camp. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon near lunch time and overwhelmed the two poor employees. They did there very best to move the starving scouts who had not seen "real food" in a week. Despite the occasional grumble from one of our Assisant Scoutmaster they maintained a very positive demeanor. To help out, they called the owner who came in to assist.
The food was very good and freshly made. I ordered a banana shake that was so thick I would have had an easier time sucking a basketball through the straw. (This is not a negative criticism, quite the contrary). The shake was so beautifully cold and dense that it lasted until I got to Gilroy, many miles away. The most wonderful thing about the shake were the tiny pieces of banana that proved the freshness and handcraft taken to make it. Super tasty.
The owner was gracious enough to let us know that if we are going to come by the the future then we should give a call ahead and he will make sure the staff is properly supported.
The only reason I am giving a 4 star rather than 5 stars is because the restroom was out of soap and paper towels prior to our arrival. With over 35 grubby boys, all of whom needed to use the toilet, clean hands are essential.
Thanks, we hope to see you again. -

This place had nice service and good prices. They were attentive and the food tasted all American.
I might not have found this place if I didn't search.
We went at 830pm and it was empty. It was nice for us a family of 5 to have the place to ourselves.
No fancy decor. Bathroom was clean. No towels but clean.
Lots of cheeseburgers and choices for kids. -

I came to the Red Onion with my co workers which they wanted something very greasy and unhealthy such as a burger.
When we walked in it reminded me of Keena and Kail but Latina style as it just had that vibe. Since I don't eat beef I scanned the menu of the chicken options or even options for Turkey burger.
I was not impressed by the options and nothing stood out to me since I have had some pretty darn good burgers in Fresno such as Mad Ducks best in my opinion so going from that to the Red Onion I was highly disappointed but it like comparing apples to oranges which you can't! Like I didn't expect them to wow me but it was just like over priced cafeteria food.
The workers look like they were on drugs...walking in very tacky...the Manager was very RUDE to the employees which appeared very unprofessional. She yelled at them a few time which left me feeling sorry for them as this place is below mediocre. I shouldn't have to feel sorry during my meal dining on. However the manager was very friendly to the customers and made sure we knew their refill policy- free refills on soft drinks. My lemonade taste weird so I didn't get another.
Due to the yelling and the way the employees appeared I forgot to take pictures of my food. I was just ready to leave. The portions are huge but the atmosphere is such a drag.
I was surprised that this place was getting packed when I came in. They also have drive thru as well!
I probably would not be back. I rather spend my money elsewhere. However the staff was very helpful and friendly! -

30 min wait for 3 shakes and to make it worse we couldn't get out of the drive through.

Excellent bacon double cheeseburger with good balance of veggies & big bun. Mass quantities of very crispy golden waffle fries. Pleasant prompt service (post lunch rush). Clean facilities. HOWEVER: the maddeningly stingy dinky condiment packs (salt, pepper, catsup & mustard) and non-functional mini munchkin wipes detract from the mealtime experience. Get some shakers & squeeze bottles and decent lunch napkins, PLEASE! Keeping them filled & clean separates the quality operation from the fast food franchise wannabe. It's also cheaper in the long run and environmentally respectful.
UPDATE: I discovered there are 2 Red Onion burger restaurants in Fresno. I was unable to find out if this brand is a franchise or the beginnings of a chain.
